While we’re trying to figure out how we want to talk about the Harry Potter series as a whole, it is important to note that the cast can still mean a lot to us as fans.

Right now, being a fan of the Harry Potter series has its challenges. And we’re trying to figure out where we all stand. Writing off the series can be hard but we also can’t continue to show our support for it because of J.K. Rowling and her transphobic views shared on Twitter and in her blog post.

So what can we do? We can support the cast! Many of which have come out against Rowling and shared their support for the trans community! Many of these stars are still making movies or doing advocacy work and are putting themselves out there in ways that we can easily support. From watching Miracle Workers for Daniel Radcliffe or following Emma Watson and her U.N. journey, it’s easy to pick your favorite star from the franchise and seeing what they’re up to.

Sure, it’s not Harry Potter but it’s reminding us of the joy this series brought us in a way that isn’t supporting Rowling. It’s hard to not want to give your attention to something you so easily did in the past. Making a reference to Potter or wanting to rewatch is still going to be there but hopefully we can all find other ways of connecting that doesn’t seem as if we’re still supporting the author.

Maybe someday we can go back to Hogwarts but that day isn’t now, not when Rowling is still reaping the benefits of the franchise.

Next. Rupert Grint hasn’t seen all the Harry Potter movies. dark
