Holidays mean different things to so many people, and there are many people (myself included) that feel better when we have a little bit of the winter holiday season around all year long. Though Valentine’s Day is coming up, Mr. 365 is a holiday movie that highlights how special holidays can be. This throwback PassionFlix film is the perfect way to warm up on these cold winter nights.

Mr. 365 was released in 2018 and stars Chelsea Hobbs as Sophia, a reality TV producer looking for the next big story. She finds it in Christopher Russell’s Will. Will has become known as the guy who keeps his house decorated for Christmas all year long. Sophia sees an angle and sets to work convincing Will that he should share his story with viewers everywhere, but she soon realizes that his decorations are so much more than a quirky gimmick.

The movie was directed by Christie Will-Wolf and is based on a book by Ruth Clampett. As PassionFlix movies go, Mr. 365 is best described as sweet, thus earning two flames out of five on the Bon Meter to go along with its PG-13 rating.

Will and Sophia have great chemistry. When Sophia starts to learn more about why Will is so enamored of Christmas she becomes protective of him, trying to keep his spirit from being crushed by the harsh glare of reality TV.

PassionFlix movie Mr. 365 is the perfect movie for trying times

Mr. 365 stands out right now more than ever as we enter the second month of 2021 and people are still struggling with the pandemic and coping with the loss of loved ones. When the first lockdowns were implemented last March, families started putting up their Christmas lights because they were stuck at home and they wanted to spread cheer for their neighbors.

Recently, a family received support from the community after a grinch sent them an anonymous letter berating them for leaving their Christmas lights up and it’s almost February. It turns out that the family lost their father, and putting up Christmas lights was something he loved to do. The family hadn’t really intended to leave the lights up but they have been dealing with his loss and taking down the lights was the last thing on their minds.

Their story led to other stories about Christmas lights being shared and it serves as a poignant reminder that you never know what someone else is going through, and perhaps the spirit of Christmas is something that gives them comfort through particularly trying times.
