Every month we spotlight a trans organization to donate to as fans of the Harry Potter series and this month, we’re talking about Trans Lifeline!

The Harry Potter fandom has a unique opportunity to help out the trans community. Being fans of this series means that we recognize and love each other, despite what Rowling and her harmful tweets and blogpost represent.

So each month, we here at Wizards and Whatnot make sure to highlight a trans organization that fans can donate to to help the community that Rowling continues to tear down. This month, we’re talking about Trans Lifelife!

Trans Lifeline is an organization ran by and for the trans community. They’re a peer-based support for those in the community and they’re a great resource for ID changes, community outreach, and more.

Their vision is simple: “We envision a world where trans people have the connection, economic security, and care everyone needs and deserves – free of prisons and police.”

Donate what you can and make sure to share links and resources to other fans of the Harry Potter series. We have to be there for the trans community and doing our part to help uplift them and care for them is the least we can do.

It’s beautiful to see the work that Trans Lifeline is doing and giving them a donation helps them continue to do said work and make sure there is a safe space for members of the trans community to reach out to one another for guidance.

Trans Lifeline is a great organization and we’re proud to share links to donate to their hard work.
