Being a Gryffindor is something that fans take to heart but chances are, you probably aren’t really a Gryffindor since most just chose to be one without much thought.

Look, we all probably wanted to be a Gryffindor at some point in our lives because that’s the Hogwarts House that Harry Potter was in. Does that mean we are all Gryffindors? No. But there is a unique aspect to being a Gryffindor that separates those who truly belong in the house to those who want to be.

Part of being “brave at heart” is choosing to be a Gryffindor. So getting put into the house on a quiz doesn’t really make you a true Gryffindor at heart. Because you didn’t actively make that brave choice. That was chosen for you.

Now, if you picked the house and you got it in a quiz? Then you’re really a true Gryffindor through and through. Either way, it isn’t really a bad thing. All these houses are just things we sort of chose on our own. But still, we can separate ourselves accordingly and try and figure out the best way to decide whether or not we’re a Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or, of course, a Gryffindor.

Is choosing your own house bad? Absolutely not. This is all made up anyway but getting to be in the house you relate to most probably makes you like this series that much more fun. So, if you want to be brave? Then go ahead and pick Gryffindor. Are you smart and want to use that intelligence? Be a Ravenclaw.

Do whatever feels right for you and don’t let anyone tell you any different.
