Voldemort and Bellatrix and the strange relationship the two had with each other
Do you ever stop and think about how Bellatrix Lestrange and Voldemort were together and how strange that relationship is? Because…we do and it’s weird.
So thinking about anyone being in love with Voldemort is strange. It’s weird because he just constantly seems so evil, it’s baffling that anyone would want to try to love him. But there’s Bellatrix Lestrange and we know that the two were in love with each other. Well, sort of.
In Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, we meet Voldemort and Bellatrix’s daughter so we at least know they…did that and that’s about all we need. Don’t need to know more about their relationship and don’t really care to find anything else out.
But looking at them as a couple it’s…interesting. There are so many aspects of this franchise that we don’t really get to explore in the books or in the movies and so when you learn about them it’s sort of a “wait, what” moment. Like…Bellatrix and Voldemort being together.
It makes sense for Bellatrix, she was obsessed with Voldemort. But it’s Voldemort and his quest for greatness that doesn’t really work out when you’re looking at it. Doesn’t mean that Voldemort loved Bellatrix. Probably saw their relationship as something completely different from what Bellatrix saw but still…the thought alone is weird.
Voldemort finding comfort in anyone? Strange, upsetting, and not really something fans want to think about and yet Cursed Child presented it to us and made us watch it. Don’t like it, not one bit so let’s just pretend that it isn’t something to worry about.
