The Season 5 premiere of Riverdale airs tonight. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the soapy teen drama of Archie and friends.

When we last left off with Riverdale, things were in a bit of disarray, to say the least. Thanks to social distancing guidelines due to the coronavirus pandemic, Riverdale‘s fourth season was cut a bit short, leaving many storylines unresolved.

This leaves the fifth season in a bit of a tight spot, stuck having to resolve what is left from the previous season while also moving forward with a new story. The primary unresolved storyline, as hinted in the preview below, seems to be the voyeur tapes.

According to IMDB, the official synopsis for “Chapter Seventy-Seven: Climax” reads:

"Betty and Jughead’s investigation into the auteur leads them to a secret underground for red-band screenings. To impress the Naval Academy Commandant, Archie participates in a boxing exhibition against another candidate – KO Kelly."

In addition to solving the mystery of the voyeur tapes, the preview also hints at plenty of relationship drama, the heart, and soul of Riverdale, including potential shakeups in the core four couplings of Archie and Veronica and Betty and Jughead.

Because season 4’s senior year was interrupted, we can also expect to see the remaining rites of passage like prom and graduation. What specifically is in store, of course, will always be a surprise, – something this show certainly excels at.
