After Daniel, a helicopter medic, answers an emergency call placed by Annika, he realizes that she’s the woman he saw in the ER months ago. He hasn’t been able to get her off his mind, but he’s not in a place to be looking for love. Not after the school shooting that took his daughter from him. Still, Annika is fun and bright and so beautiful that Daniel wants to be around her more than anything.

Annika knows it’s not a good idea to get involved with Daniel. She’s a kindergarten teacher moonlighting as a bartender. Besides, she’s still dealing with a terrible break-up and the loss of her unborn child. She should be focusing on herself not someone else, and they’re not right for each other anyway, but every excuse she’s come with can’t seem to stop her from wanting Daniel in her life.
