Early reactions to WandaVision have arrived, and we need it to be Friday already!

Marvel fans only have a few more days until they can watch WandaVision for themselves, and early reviews suggest there’s a lot to look forward to with this new Disney+ series. First reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, suggesting viewers won’t want to miss out on this wacky, sitcom-inspired adventure with the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Wanda Maximoff and Vision.

WandaVision sees these two characters living out married life in a variety of sitcom settings, all with one central mystery: With Vision dead and Wanda’s reality looking nothing like this series, how is this all possible?

Fans have their theories on what could be happening here — many inspired by Marvel’s “House of M” comic — but we’ll have to wait to see just how this story plays out. In the meantime, viewers can whet their appetites with all the responses to early screeners. (Trust us, they’ll have you even more amped up about this series as we approach its premiere.)

Eric Goldman, managing editor of Fandom, suggested the series will offer a new feel for those tired of seeing the same old superhero tropes, writing on Twitter, “I’ve seen the first three episodes of #WandaVision and man is it my jam. If you fret that all superhero stories can feel the same, here is big proof otherwise. I found it delightfully trippy and intriguing. I love what I’ve seen so far and can’t wait to see the entire season.”

Rotten Tomatoes critic Tania Lamb echoed that sentiment, calling the series “fun,” “clever,” and “quirky.” Judging by her tweet, waiting a week between episodes might be a little agonizing — which is pretty telling about the show’s quality.

Critic Nikki Novak also described the series as “fresh” and “funny,” and specifically highlighted the chemistry between Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany that will dominate this show. These two have always done well together in MCU films, but it’s nice to know they’ll be bringing that dynamic to WandaVision as well.

With such great reviews from the first three episodes, it’s almost a given that WandaVision will become a highlight of the current television season. And after a year without the MCU, we can’t wait to dive in!
