What would a Quidditch Bowl season look like?
By Alex Kelly
Even with several college football bowl games being cancelled, there are still two or three games a day to preoccupy fans with. What would it be like if Quidditch teams had their own bowl games?
The most fun part of imagining if this were to happen is to come up with all sorts of different bowl game names. The Wisconsin Badgers yesterday won the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, and then promptly broke the trophy in the postgame celebration. To make sure this didn’t damper the mood, they just taped a bottle of Duke’s Mayo to the top and kept on partying.
A potential sponsor for a Quidditch bowl game would be Weasley Wizard Wheezes, the joke shop owned and operated by the Weasley Twins. With a whole slew of products, I think the perfect one to choose would make the game be known as the Weasley Wizards Wheezes Dungbomb Bowl.
The most obvious sponsor of a bowl game would have to be Quality Quidditch Supplies, the go to Quidditch store in Diagon Alley. A Puddlemere United – Ballycastle Bats matchup in the Quality Quidditch Supplies Bowl would be the must have ticket of the year.
Quidditch is something that is not as developed in the overall world of Harry Potter as some would have hoped, so it is fun to take an American concept and see how it could work in the Wizarding World.
