Fanfiction is an important part of any fandom and the Harry Potter series has its fair share. So let’s talk about why it is so important to keep it alive in the fandom.

Harry Potter and fanfiction are two things that go together very well. Fans of the series are still creating their own work for it and they’re creating stories for their favorite characters away from the narrative and it’s important to see because the series is so tainted now. So fans getting to create their own stories is something we’ve always done as fans.

But there are some incredible ones that are either lost to the sands of time or are no longer being published but still, it is an important part of fandom to talk about. We’ve talked before about how some fans have favorites who are not really given the time of day in the series so being able to explore them in fanfiction can be helpful to them.

But it also gives fans a way to play with these characters and have it be separate from J.K. Rowling. Which is what so many need right now. It is a hard time to be a fan of the series, none of that is untrue. So many fans want to explore how this series made them feel without actually giving back to anything to do with its creator and fanfiction is the way to do it.

Some might completely leave the series behind and some may just live in the world of fanfiction for the Harry Potter series and both are valid and okay but the world of fanfiction is something that fans have clung to for years.
