5 things we want to see in Marvel’s Phase 5

More super teams
For the past decade or so, the Avengers, Earth’s mightiest heroes, have been at the center of the MCU. Everything has revolved around either members of the team or their origin stories, until The Guardians of the Galaxy came out, telling a different story about a group of super-powered beings who came together out of necessity. Then we had Agents of SHIELD, Runaways, and The Defenders
. All of this is to say that some of the best and most memorable moments of the MCU involved a super team. In fact, comic books that center around teams such as the Avengers or the X-Men have been the backbone of Marvel Comic’s success for decades.
Building on the popularity of the originals, The Avengers spun-off into The West Coast Avengers and Force Works; X-Men spun-off into X-Factor, X-Force, and Excalibur. Obviously, it takes time to establish characters who then come together to form a team for whatever reason, and the MCU is already laying the possible groundwork for some of the most exciting teams in comic book history.
With the addition of America Chavez, Kate Bishop, Ironheart, and Ms. Marvel, the MCU could very well be looking to introduce either a version of the Young Avengers or The Champions. Both groups include a roster of young, mostly teenage, heroes who come together to form their own team.
Let’s also not forget about that A-Force film that audiences and MCU actresses alike have been asking for, especially since the infamous all-female hero shot in Avengers: Endgame. While this project may be down the road some years, it also provides the opportunity to involve characters from the comic book who haven’t appeared in the official MCU yet, such as Dazzler and Singularity. Prior reports indicated that ABC was interested in developing a female-centric superhero show with Marvel late last year, though nothing substantial has become of it.
