When it comes to tackling big franchises, the cast of the Harry Potter series is no strange to it but they didn’t just bring to life the wizarding world either.

From Star Wars to Downton Abbey and beyond, the cast of the Harry Potter series isn’t just responsible for bringing to life the wizarding world. There’s something so interesting about looking at this franchise and how these actors not only bring the iconic world of Harry to our screen but go on to play important roles in other franchises as well.

Maybe it’s a testament to their agents but it’s also just their ability to bring iconic characters to life that keep them coming back in our lives in some way or another. Look at Alan Rickman’s career and how he is in so many different franchises throughout his career and he didn’t even really start until he was older.

Then, there are actors like Dame Maggie Smith or Brendan Gleeson and even Domhnall Gleeson who go on to other worlds because they’re just that good. The caliber of actors was not the problem with the Harry Potter movies. Yes, they tried to smash too much information into these movies all at once and it made them too jammed pack but the actors we did have were incredible.

Part of the problem with going back to redo these movies would mean recasting and some of these actors were just too perfect but luckily we have them in plenty of other franchises to keep us going. Because one thing is for sure: the Harry Potter series had quite the talent.
