What the world of Harry Potter can learn from the recent world expansion with Star Wars
The world of Star Wars is growing on Disney+ and it is offering up a way for the Harry Potter to also expand and tell more stories on HBO Max in the future for the series.
After the Disney Investor Day announcements, it is clear that they have mastered the art of exploring other aspects of these series and that’s what HBO Max should do with the Harry Potter series.
Right now, the series is still completely at the hands of J.K. Rowling and that’s making a lot of fans want to take a step back from it. Which is understandable. But looking at how both Star Wars and Marvel are getting explored in separate series and movie franchises, it would be more interesting to see them give a deeper look into the Harry Potter series in this way.
Because that is pretty much the only way we can start to take the series over, to be honest. Right now, everything is still so very connected to J.K. Rowling that even if fans want to still enjoy the series without giving her their money and attention.
But this is the way we can start to explore the series as we want to as fans. It’s probably going to take a while before we get to completely separate the series and explore them in TV shows and other mediums.
It’s working for Star Wars and yes, George Lucas just sold the franchise and isn’t someone we’re trying to separate it from but it is still a tactic that fans of the Harry Potter series could hope for down the line.
