Last week’s His Dark Materials saw Lyra and Lord Boreal cross paths again as he tricked Lyra and stole her alethiometer. When Lyra and Will found him again, Boreal told them he would only return it if they could deliver to him a knife hidden in Cittàgazze.
Meanwhile, Lee Scoresby continued his search for Stanislaus Grumman, landing him in an unfortunate prison scenario with Mrs. Coulter as his only hope. As the two confided about their abusive childhoods, Mrs. Coulter decided to let Lee free in an effort to increase the odds that someone would find Lyra sooner rather than later.

The preview also seems to show Mrs. Coulter and Lord Boreal meeting again, which will surely lead to plenty of juicy Magisterium drama to feast upon in the midst of the witches furthering their plot.
