Here’s every Warner Bros. movie that will debut on HBO Max AND in theaters
Judas and the Black Messiah – TBD
With the recent focus on the Black Lives Matter movement, it seems fitting a film about Black Panther leader Fred Hampton should arrive to shine a light on the civil rights movement of the 1960s and those who played a large role in it. Judas and the Black Messiah will tell the story of Hampton, who was killed by police officers at the age of 21. Daniel Kaluuya will take on the role, with Lakeith Stanfield, Jesse Plemons, Martin Sheen, and Ashton Sanders all appearing as well.
Cry Macho – TBD
Adapted from the N. Richard Nash novel of the same name, Cry Macho follows Texas rodeo star Mike Milo, who agrees to kidnap his ex-boss’ son, taking him from Mexico and his alcoholic mother and back to Texas. The two bond on the journey, which will be directed by Clint Eastwood, who will also play the leading role.
Those Who Wish Me Dead – TBD
Another book-to-film adaptation, this one based on Michael Koryta’s novel of the same name, Those Who Wish Me Dead will bring movie lovers a neo-western film starring none other than Angelina Jolie. The story follows a teenage protagonist who has witnessed a murder and is now being hunted by assassins. Luckily, he has a survival expert to look after him — though even that may not save him from the forest fires raging in the area.
Malignant – TBD
Another horror film from the same mind behind Saw and Insidious, Malignant promises to be another revelation from James Wan — even if the actual plot details haven’t been revealed as of yet. If the cast is anything to judge by, however, we’re in good hands. The film will feature Annabelle Wallis, Jake Abel, George Young, Maddie Hasson, Michole Briana White, Jacqueline McKenzie, and Mckenna Grace. Talk about a great lineup!
