Here’s every Warner Bros. movie that will debut on HBO Max AND in theaters
Dune – October 1, 2021
Dune, the latest adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 science-fiction novel, was supposed to hit theaters this December — that is, until the continuing health crisis pushed it back almost an entire year. Luckily, it doesn’t seem like we’ll have to wait longer than that to see Denis Villeneuve’s take on this story of familial houses and revenge.
The film’s cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin, all of whom will now bring this tale to life on the big and small screens.
King Richard – November 19, 2021
A drama surrounding the family of tennis legends Serena and Venus Williams? Sign us up! This Warner Bros. film will focus primarily on the tennis players’ father, who coached and trained them as they grew to fame. As if that synopsis wasn’t compelling enough, Will Smith will take on the lead role. Basically, King Richard sounds like the perfect Thanksgiving weekend watch next year.
The Matrix 4 – December 22, 2021
Fans of The Matrix trilogy were no doubt looking forward to the surprising fourth installment (which was originally supposed to hit theaters on the same day as the new John Wick film — a Keanu Reeves double feature if there ever was one!). Unfortunately, that Keanu Day won’t be happening, but fans will still get to indulge in the newest Matrix movie regardless of where we are with COVID-19 and movie theaters next year.
A return to the Wachowski sisters’ science-fiction world sounds like the ideal way to spend next Christmas. (And after Wonder Woman this year?! Warner Bros. sure knows how to give a gift.)
