Harry Potter and the journey he has to celebrating the holidays
So Harry Potter hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to the holidays so let’s explore his holidays and how he grew to care about them throughout the years.
Thinking about Harry Potter and the holidays is always hard because Harry didn’t get to really celebrate prior to his time at Hogwarts. When he was with the Dursleys, Harry didn’t get anything. Or if he did, it would be something that was a hand down from Dudley or a gift to help their home life.
But as the series went on, we got to explore different kinds of holidays for him. He watched as his friends wanted to celebrate his birthday or give him a gift for Christmas. He saw the joy that a holiday could bring someone and it was beautiful to see with the character.
But then how did it continue? Well, with Harry’s family with Ginny, there had to be some kind of happiness there. Granted, we didn’t get to see it because even in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, we barely explored the holidays, but it can be assumed that his holidays continued to get better as he had his own family and got to make new memories.
Still, the joy of seeing Harry get to experience the happiness and wonder of a holiday surrounded by people who loved him was fun to see because he deserved that bit of happiness and getting to be appreciated in the same way that the Dursleys celebrated Dudley and each other and how James and Lily would have, probably, celebrated with Harry had they survived.
