Harry Potter and the relationships that stayed with us throughout the series
Whether it is a canon relationship or something that lives only in fanfiction, there are relationships in the Harry Potter series that have stayed with us long after it has ended.
Now that the ship wars are over and the wondering has ended, fans of the Harry Potter series are no longer thinking as much about the couples they wanted to love as they read the series. But still, some couples keep with us and they’re interesting to look at.
One of the biggest ships, still to this day, is Sirius/Lupin. But then again, many fans of the series love the Marauders most of all because it is, for the most part, unexplored territory. We’ve spent years writing fanfiction and exploring these characters ourselves with the hope that we can one day see them on screen or on the page again.
Other than the Marauders, there are ships like Drarry and Dramione. For the most part, Draco was shipped with…well, everyone. And people loved to explore those relationships and still do. They didn’t just stop because the series ended.
But some of these relationships aren’t even romantic. The father/son dynamic between Harry and Sirius is often talked about or Ron and Harry’s friendship. We look at all these relationships because, even for those that live mainly in fanfiction, we care about them still.
So why is the Harry Potter fandom still thriving? Because fans have kept these relationships alive. They want to explore them in their writing or they want to paint these beautiful stories in whatever ways they thrive and that’s exciting to see still existing within the fandom.
