Alan Rickman’s diaries are being turned into a novel
Miss Alan Rickman? Now his 27 diaries are going to be published as one book for fans of the late actor to read and remind themselves why they loved Rickman more than most.
We all miss Alan Rickman and knowing that we love him as fans, hearing that a book of his diary entries is coming out should be exciting! Writing about his career and life for the last 25 years of it (up until his death in 2016), the diaries are going to be published after being edited down.
According to The Guardian, the diaries were written under the impression that Rickman would one day get to publish them. So any fear of someone sharing something Rickman did not want can be washed away! Beginning in the early 90s, he continued to write the diaries through the following 25 years through his career from Die Hard to Love Actually and in through his work with the Harry Potter series.
The Diaries of Alan Rickman is going to be edited Alan Taylor, editor of the Scottish Review of Books, and breaking down the 27 diaries that were left behind after Rickman’s passing. Filled with his wit, his humor, and his gossipy takes, it’s going to be exciting to see what Alan Rickman had to say about the Harry Potter series and his career overall.
He’s one of the greatest actors still and getting to have this glimpse into his mind that we didn’t have before? It’s a gift for any fan of Alan Rickman’s and any fan of the Harry Potter series. The novel is set to release in autumn of 2022 and it will be nice to read what Rickman wrote!
