Over and over again, Hermione Granger could have given up and just turned into a different person but she didn’t. She stayed true to herself and that’s why we love her.

Hermione Granger is the character that many saw themselves in because she was bookish and smart and not afraid to make that known. They wanted to be like her because she was brave and they wanted to be the brightest witch of her age. But that’s not why I think she’s a character we look to. At least, that’s not why I love her.

Hermione Granger was often alone. She was the person who was a “know-it-all” so people made fun of her and what was so special was that she never let it stop her. So often, we’re made fun of growing up (and even as adults) and we just let it rule how we live our life. We cower behind what we think people want to see of us and we let it rule who we are. Hermione didn’t.

She wasn’t perfect and she did have her moments (most notably when Ron and Harry made fun of her and she ran to cry in the bathroom) but she still brushed herself off and carried on because she knew that she was doing the best she could.

Hermione Granger is a beacon to many because she’s smart and loves to read and that’s completely fine but I personally love her because she’s not always strong but she does always pick herself back up. And that’s the kind of characters we should want to root for. They could easily give up or change and try to fit into the norms that everyone else is but instead, they stay true to who they are and refuse to completely change and I think that’s special.
