The Harry Potter series and the fans of the His Dark Materials series are two fandoms that know and love their franchises very much so let’s talk about both of them.

With His Dark Materials returning to HBO, it’s fun to look at its fandom in comparison to that of the Harry Potter one. The thing is: We both just love a book series and want to support it. Throughout the years, the His Dark Materials fandom has done its waiting, trying to get their favorite series the attention it deserves.

And now that the series is coming out on HBO, it is a good representation of the franchise and as fans of the Harry Potter series, we should support this adaptation. Mainly because it is similar enough to the story we know and love while still being different than anything we’d seen before.

But, much like the Harry Potter series, there are many aspects to connect to as fans. From labeling what your dæmon would be or talking about which world you love, the series is filled with things to attach to much like we all did with the wizarding world.

It bascially just a love of these fantasy worlds and it is important to keep them all alive. For so long, we had to worry about whether or not we were going to get a new version of this or that and now that we have these incredible adaptations, we should celebrate the good things. So, watch His Dark Materials and enjoy the story unfolding before you! It’s worth your time and energy.

dark. Next. Will shows stop making references to the Harry Potter series now?
