The Fantastic Beasts series was supposed to be five movies long but now, with the departure of Johnny Depp, could we use the remaining movies for the series fans actually want?

Johnny Depp is out of the Fantastic Beasts series and now, having only filmed one scene for the third movie, we have a dilemma: Who is going to play Grindelwald/what is the third Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie going to be?

For many, this series was something that none of us asked for. Especially when what the majority of fans wanted was a Marauders series. So what if they used the rest of the movies in the contract with Warner Bros. to do just that?

The problem with the series is that it isn’t exactly something anyone was itching for. And with each new addition, gets messier and messier. There are aspects of the franchise that we did, as fans, want to explore and this was, unfortunately, not one of them. But now that we’re seeing problems in the franchise and where it needs to go, it might as well end up being something worthwhile for fans.

So switching directions could work but there also just needs to be an overhaul of the Harry Potter series. So much is wrong right now and until there are some major changes, fans are still not going to be too excited for something new from Potter.

What does that mean for the future of this franchise? Who knows but we’ll have to wait and see what Warner Bros. decides to do with it.

Next. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and an exploration of the Harry Potter houses. dark
