The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and an exploration of the Harry Potter houses

Lena, Bridget, Carmen, and Tibby are all four extremely good friends but they also are a great look at the Harry Potter houses so let’s take a look back at the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

First, there is Bridget. Played by Blake Lively in the movie, she’s clearly the Gryffindor. She’s ready to run into danger and do the things she finds exhilarating without worry or care. She doesn’t care if it is dangerous until after the fact and throws herself into situations without really thinking it through first.

Then, there’s Lena. Definitely a Ravenclaw, Lena is extremely intellectual and spends her time observing those around her and using that to her advantage with her artwork. She’s also the quiet one of this friend group but that doesn’t make her not as open as her friends.

With Carmen, she’s a Hufflepuff. Not for any reason other than her loyalty. She loves her friends and even when they’re too busy doing whatever they want for the summer, she always thinks back to them and wants to be with them even if they make plans without her.

And then, the Slytherin of the group is Tibby. Constantly lurking in the background, she has both the bad qualities of Slytherin as well as the good. She’s cunning and quick but she does have a mean streak. But she’d do anything for her friends and that’s what really counts.

These four friends show that while the Harry Potter series has them all separated out, the four houses should all be able to work together and grow as one unite because it is our differences (in this regard) that bring us together.
