PlayStation Plus members have access to a bonus game for November’s offerings! Let’s take a look at the offerings in preparation for the PS5 release.

The PlayStation 5 releases on November 12. We’re so close that I can almost taste it.

But before we even make it to the PS5 release, PlayStation Plus members have new games this month to tide them over for 11 long days.

Here are your two free games for the month of November:

  • Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition
  • Middle Earth: Shadow of War

As an awesome bonus, PlayStation Plus members will also have access to a PS5 exclusive game. That’s right! Bugsnax! Honestly, I may just play it solely because the dang theme song gets caught in my head and has become a running reference in my house since the showcase over the summer.

Of course, Bugsnax is only available on the PlayStation 5, but it will be free to PS Plus members through January 4.

Let’s dive in to this month’s offerings.

Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition includes the four DLC packs with it, which is nice. It’s a 2D Metroidvania action-adventure game that has a great haunting aesthetic (which would have been great for an October offering!). The whole premise and vibe sucks you in almost from the start and you’ll find yourself playing for hours on end.

I will say, the combat takes a little bit of time to get used to. But once you get the hang of it, it makes it that much better. You can just play the main story or fall down literal rabbit holes for side adventures and it opens up the world even more.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War is the sequel to Shadow of Mordor. Once again it’s an open world adventure game with combat in the same vain as the Arkham series. You don’t need to be a Lord of the Rings nerd to enjoy the adventure, but it would be better if you’ve played Shadow of Mordor.

Play once more as the ranger Talion as he and the spirit of the elf lord Celebrimbor try to forge a new Ring of Power to take on Sauron. It improves on the nemesis system from the first game, helping you amass your following. Plus if you are a LOTR nerd, you’ll like mentions of familiar people and items like Shelob, Palantir, and Galadriel.

This month’s offerings are much better than last month, and they’ll certainly help pass the time until the release of the PlayStation 5.
