The last few weeks, Saturday Night Live has made a jab at J.K. Rowling for her controversial tweets and blog post and honestly, good on SNL for calling her out for it.

J.K. Rowling has continued to be under fire for her series of controversial tweets as well as her blog post and Saturday Night Live isn’t backing off from calling her out. The live comedy sketch show decided not only to have Pete Davidson call her out on Weekend Update but this last weekend, Kate McKinnon played a psychic who told a group of guests to tell J.K. Rowling to “stick to the boooks”.

It was a simple sketch. Four friends go to a psychic in 2019 and want to see what 2020 has in store for them. She slowly starts to reveal all the bad things that happen in 2020 and the sketch ends with the J.K. Rowling joke.

To be honest, it’s not even that big of a deal but people are so wound up about the J.K. Rowling issue that it is something that many are talking about. The joke is something that should have been said because there are so many people who were hurt and are endangered by Rowling’s words and tweets.

So if a show like Saturday Night Live wants to make a joke about her and call her out? It makes sense. Especially with people like Pete Davidson (who loves the series) writing on the show. We can’t continue to just pretend like Rowling’s tweets didn’t happen. They did and we have to call her out and point out why her stance is harmful.

Next. As much as we love the Harry Potter series, it’s time to admit that it isn’t that original. dark
