The CW has officially revealed what Javicia Leslie’s batsuit will look like in season 2 of Batwoman – and fans are more than pleased.

Batwoman fans are seeing red, in the best possible way.

In two new photos, the CW superhero show has drawn back the curtain on actress Javicia Leslie’s official look for season 2, which will see her take over as the Scarlet Knight in the wake of original star Ruby Rose’s departure.

If these images are anything to go by, it appears as though Gotham’s vigilante has gotten a sleek wardrobe upgrade. Mercifully, Leslie will not be tasked with donning the same hair as Rose did in season one, and will instead rock a more natural look with some red-streaked curls.

Where most of the color in Rose’s Batwoman came from her fiery red wig, this new suit has spread things out a bit. Javicia Leslie will be rocking some fierce red gauntlets, with a cape that appears to match.

That said, we won’t be seeing this suit right off the bat. (Pun intended.) Per the CW, Leslie’s character Ryan Wilder will follow a similar path as Kate did in season one, donning the suit that’s available to her before redesigning it to fit her needs and personality. The new batsuit will make its debut in episode three.

Leslie is stepping into the role following Rose’s sudden departure at the end of Batwoman’s first season. She will play new character Ryan Wilder, who  is described by The CW as “likable, messy, a little goofy and untamed.”

She’s said to be nothing like Kate Kane – who will apparently still exist in the Arrowverse – but instead has “spent years as a drug-runner, dodging the GCPD and masking her pain with bad habits. Today Ryan lives in her van with her plant. A girl who would steal milk for an alley cat and could also kill you with her bare hands.”

How exactly she’ll fit in with Luke, Mary and Alice is still anyone’s guess, but we can’t wait to see how it goes.
