How will Cat Grant’s story end in Supergirl season 6?

Calista Flockhart‘s Cat Grant was a huge part of making the first season of Supergirl a success. Fierce, witty, and loyal, Cat took Kara under her wing at CatCo Media and eventually became a confidante of Supergirl’s. It wasn’t until the end of season 1 that Cat revealed that she knew Supergirl was Kara all along (or, as she kept misnaming her, Kiera). Cat departed the series during the second season, as the show moved from CBS to The CW because Flockhart didn’t want to be working in Canada when her family was in Los Angeles.

In the series, Cat turned over editorial control to James until Lena officially bought the company in season 3. Lena then sold CatCo to Andrea Rojas at the beginning of season 5 — another casualty of the Kara/Lena fallout. Cat went on to become the Press Secretary for President Olivia Marsdin (Lynda Carter) and, while her name has been mentioned a few times throughout the series, we haven’t seen her since season 2. Like most good finales, we assume that former cast members will return to pay their respects, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see Cat in the final season. Possibly in the final episode to see Kara off or even offer Nia a job in D.C..
