Before, we let a lot of the more questionable aspects of the Harry Potter series go by and not comment on them but now it is important to start to call them out.

The Harry Potter series brought joy to many when the series was coming out but now that we’re older and things about Rowling have come to light, there needs to be a new way we view the series that isn’t just looking back on the aspects we did like fondly.

For whatever reason, there’s a kind of love we all have for this franchise that we just forget to critically look at it at all. Why is that? Is it because we were kids when we first experienced the franchise? Because even so, we should be able to now look at parts that were not great and talk about them.

And it isn’t just storylines, there are characters that are forgiven or forgotten about and it doesn’t make sense why that happens over and over again. This isn’t to say we should hate every part of this series but it is time we start examining those parts that we just brush off or ignore and start to examine why we do that. Instead of exploring the series completely and talking about the less than great aspects can start to help us explore the series in a more in-depth way.

We need to actively look at Harry Potter and explore parts we think are problematic instead of just turning a blind eye and it needs to start to happen now.
