Tom Ellis knows the real struggle of being a Gryffindor and people seeing you as something else

Being a Gryffindor means that often you’re made fun of for your choice but Tom Ellis, who stares as Lucifer Morningstar in Lucifer, knows that struggle very well.

Tom Ellis may play the Devil (aka Lucifer Morningstar) on Lucifer but he’s also clearly a fan of the Harry Potter series! The star talked back in 2018 about taking his daughters to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and how he always saw himself as a Gryffindor but they bought him a Slytherin scarf.

And here’s the thing: That’s sort of a common problem.

For, whatever reason, there is constantly a battle between what Hogwarts House some fans see themselves in and what others perceive them as. It’s sort of a problem in the sense that..we should be able to pick our own houses and have that be that but then again…if you see yourself as a Gryffindor but everyone else thinks you’re something else, maybe that’s saying something?

But it’s time when celebrities openly talk about “nerdy” things that they love. It makes us, as fans, happy that someone we appreciate and celebrate also loves the same things we do. And sure, we all put our favorite celebrities into their Hogwarts Houses on our own but it is also nice to see how they view themselves in the series.

So yeah, maybe Tom Ellis’ kids are right and he’s more of a Slytherin but then again, there is also a happiness that can be found in our faves liking the same nerdy things that we do.
