It’s Hugh Jackman’s birthday, and the actor celebrated in the only acceptable way: with some delicious cake!

It’s a fact that any Monday can be improved by cake, and Hugh Jackman would probably agree given the Instagram video he posted in honor of his birthday. The actor, best known for his role as Wolverine in Fox’s X-Men movies, celebrated his 52nd birthday today — and as far as 2020 festivities go, it seems like he had a good time.

The video, shared to the star’s Instagram, shows Jackman enjoying some cake for the occasion — and it quickly prompted well wishes from fans, many of whom seemed just as excited as he was.

Jackman recently parted ways with his Wolverine role after portraying the comic character for a total of nine movies. Despite becoming the face of the character, however, Jackman never got the opportunity to officially enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe — or go head to head with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool onscreen. (They’ve certainly butted heads enough off-screen though!)

Of course, that’s not all Jackman’s been up to in recent years. He’s also tackled some musical roles in Les Miserables and The Greatest Showman, and he starred in HBO’s television movie, Bad Education, earlier this year. At 52, Jackman’s acting career is looking bright as ever. Here’s to many more years — and many more leading roles for him to conquer. (And perhaps a Wolverine reprise somewhere down the line?)
