Netflix gave fans of The Witcher a first glimpse of Henry Cavill suited up as Geralt of Rivia in season two, and we really needed this.

“Toss a coin to your Witcher, O valley of plenty…”

Remember simpler times, when we were all just trying to get that song out of our heads? Now, we’re attempting to get the constant onslaught of COVID-19- and election-related news to quiet down for a few moments, and we’d give anything to get back to binge-watching Netflix’s The Witcher.

And while season two is still a way off, the streaming platform did reveal the first look at Henry Cavill suited up as Geralt of Rivia. Let’s just say this: It’s one of the few bright spots in this terrible year.

Apart from Cavill looking rugged as ever, one of the most noteworthy aspects of the new photos is Geralt’s new armor. It’s spiffier than anything we’ve seen the Witcher wear before, but it also suggests danger is looming in this upcoming season. Why else would he need the extra protection?

Given that Geralt has finally found Ciri, fans can probably surmise that he’ll be protecting her in the show’s upcoming episodes. We’re kind of here for Dad Geralt in some polished armor.

And we won’t have too long to wait before we get to see him. Despite COVID-19-related delays, The Witcher season two is still slated to arrive sometime in 2021. (Yes, it’s weird to say, but that’s not far off.) In the meantime, at least Netflix is sharing crumbs to brighten our day.
