Haunted Mansion

Want to watch a movie that’s about a haunted house but not all that scary? Look no further than Disney’s Haunted Mansion, the 2003 film based off of Disney World’s classic ride. Starring Eddie Murphy, this movie is sure to elicit a few laughs — and although it’s not actually scary, the atmosphere of the film will still fit all your Halloween needs.

It’s also the perfect time to rewatch this Disney film, not just because it’s Spook Season, but because there’s reportedly a remake in the works at Disney. You’ll want to catch up on the original before that arrives — and October is just such a convenient time to do so!

Phantom of the Megaplex

If you’re tired of watching haunted house movies, we totally understand. Why not try a change of haunted locale and pick up Disney’s Phantom of the Megaplex? Instead of offering the typical haunted house narrative, this spooky movie is set at a movie theater. It’s certainly original, and that’s not the only reason to love it.

Following Pete Riley, a 17-year-old employee of said megaplex, the film takes place during the debut of a major motion picture. Of course, things quickly shift from exciting to concerning when staff start disappearing and equipment starts going on the fritz. Is the megaplex actually haunted? Well, now you can head to Disney+ and find out.
