The 100 stars bid farewell to their characters and the show
Leading up to The 100’s series finale, the stars of the show bid farewell to the cast and crew, and the story they’ve spent so many years working on.
Saying goodbye to a show you’ve invested so much time in over the past seven years is no easy feat, and that’s especially true for the stars bringing that series to life. With The 100 airing its final episode this evening, the actors and actresses who made The CW’s sci-fi series what it is have begun bidding farewell to their characters and reflecting on their work on the series overall. And, well, no matter how you feel about the final season, it’s hard not to get emotional about it.
In a video on The 100‘s official Twitter account, Richard Harmon thanked fans for coming on this journey with the cast and reflected on his time playing Murphy. He said:
"“This has been the greatest journey I’ve had in my life thus far. It’s been the best seven years. I’ve made the best friends. I’ve had the best run with this character and playing this character who now means so much to me. And it’s undoubtedly very hard to kind of say goodbye to him and say goodbye to everyone.”"
Lola Flanery, who plays Madi — a character whose fate seems to have been sealed as of last week’s episode — assured fans that “my love for you all is eternal” on Twitter, signing off with a firm “WE WILL MEET AGAIN.”
Sachin Sahel plays Jackson, who’s still kicking as of the end of last week’s episode. Apparently, that’s a pleasant surprise for Sahel, who tweeted about when he first got the job — and that he was “expecting to be killed off any day.” We’ll be pretty upset if he doesn’t make it to the end.
Octavia Blake actress Marie Avgeropoulos shared a throwback on Instagram, reminiscing about her first makeup test on The 100. Those were well before the days of Skyrippa or Blodreina, and Avgeropoulos probably wasn’t kidding when she wrote, “My life forever changed and I had no idea what was to come.”
Adina Porter, who plays Indra — and who’d better wind up as the Grounder commander before this finale is through — called today a “bittersweet day.” She took the time to applaud the show’s fans and shared a gif of her character saying thank you.
Eliza Taylor hasn’t said much about the big ending just yet, but she did pop in on Twitter to acknowledge how badly Clarke could use a cuddle. (She’s not wrong.) With any luck, our leading lady will find some semblance of peace before the series is through! (Although it is looking less and less likely by the minute…)
And finally, showrunner Jason Rothenberg took to Twitter before the finale to thank the creatives and actors who have brought so much of themselves to this story over the past seven years. If there’s one thing you’ll be inclined to agree with him on, it’s how many “brilliant performers” this series has had. It’s a shame we won’t have them gracing our screens weekly anymore.
If you aren’t tearing up reading through the cast’s farewells, you’ll probably manage to shed a few tears before tonight is through. We’ll probably say it again before the series is through, but: May we meet again.
