How Sirius Black and Remus Lupin became fan favorites
Sirius Black and Remus Lupin are still some of the most popular fictional characters out there so how, exactly, did they become as popular as they still are in the fandom?
For whatever reason, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin are massive figures in the Harry Potter fandom. Fans absolutely adore them and they’re still one of the biggest ships on Tumblr currently. But why? What is it about Sirius and Remus that has so many fans still clinging to them as characters?
Well, for one thing, they weren’t given that much time in the series. Part of why our favorite characters become that is because they aren’t that prominent in the series to begin with. So you can go ahead and explore them as characters on your own.
With Sirius and Remus, we know a little about their friendship and how wonderful they were when they did get to be together so many fans took to their own stories for them as characters. Which is maybe why they’re so great to us.
And part of that could have been fixed if we got the Marauders series we’d always wanted but to be completely honest, it’s a good thing that these characters kind of completely belong to the fans. Sure, there are the book ideas and how they were in the movies but the Sirius Black and Remus Lupin we know and love? They came from our fanfiction and artwork. They’re the characters we took upon ourselves to love and that’s incredibly special as well.
So, hopefully we get to continue our love for Sirius and Remus apart from everything else.
