Many fans are either writing off the Harry Potter series as a whole or ignoring what J.K. Rowling has said and it’s important to look at both of these approaches.

Talking about the Harry Potter series has become increasingly difficult and it’s all because of J.K. Rowling. The once beloved writer is relentless in sharing her views that are incredibly harmful to the trans community. So it has forced fans into a precarious state: Do we address it or just stop talking about the series?

It’s important to figure out what works best for you but for many (myself included) there is a power in addressing the problems with Rowling and even comparing her views now to what was written in the series we thought we knew so well.

It’s also important to not discount what this series meant to those in the community that Rowling is, seemingly, targetting. Their attachment is valid and how they want to view the Harry Potter series now is completely up to them.

But we can’t just ignore the issue altogether. Not with how she’s continually doubling-down on her stance. It’s been in the whispers for years and fans did ignore it because we weren’t sure or whatever the case may be but now she’s made it so we have to address her views and what it means to support this series because supporting Harry Potter means lining J.K. Rowling’s pocket.

So…unfortunately we cannot just ignore the J.K. Rowling problem and we have to start bringing it up when talking about the series.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is an important aspect of the series. dark. Next

Do you think we should just completely ignore the series now or openly talk about the problem with what J.K. Rowling has said and done? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
