Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is an important aspect of the series
When looking at Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, it’s important to look at it as a key part of the series as a whole and not just a random footnote to the franchise.
Harry Potter has had quite the life and when he finally seems to be happy, he doesn’t have an easy go of it. He constantly struggles to understand his relationships with his family and friends and, at his core, he’s still that boy who doesn’t really know what he’s doing.
And that’s why Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is an important part of the series to include when we’re talking about Harry’s arc in general. Sure, there are fans who believe that Cursed Child is an almost “fanfiction” level addition to the franchise.
But really, that’s not the case. It did a great job of bringing in a lot of our favorite characters while exploring them in a new way. The show, overall, is just fun? And it does give us new layers to Harry and how he copes with things since he isn’t exactly the best at relationships and talking about things.
So yes, it should be considered while talking about the series as a whole because it’s part of the franchise. And it is a good exploration of Harry as a character and how his relationships would change and grow after he leaves Hogwarts and watches his family grow and change.
Read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and make the decision for yourself but it is technically part of the series.
