Harry Potter, at his core, just wanted to have a family and still struggled with it
He was a boy who had no one and, in the end, all that Harry Potter wanted was to have a family and he finally got one after years of waiting. But still, he struggled.
Harry Potter is someone who struggled his entire life. When his parents died, he went to the house of his aunt and uncle who didn’t want him there. When he finally got something for himself, he was forced into a life of trying to defeat a dark wizard who was more powerful than he was and he rarely had the support he needed.
Even when he did grow up and get his own family, he still struggled to understand and appreciate what he had and it’s important for us to look at the series as a whole and explore what made Harry Potter tick.
In all honestly? His desire for answers and to find people to surround himself with is why he succeeded. He didn’t necessarily care about Voldemort on his own, he cared about what Voldemort was doing to people and he wanted to stop it and bring justice to his family.
So, at its core, the series is about a boy just looking for his place, right? He never really had a family, never really had anyone to connect to and then he finally does and he’s back to trying to find where he fits in elsewhere. It’s his burden and he’s constantly struggling with it even when he finally does have the family he’s been searching for.
