Chadwick Boseman: Tribute to a King is now on Disney+
If you missed ABC’s special, Chadwick Boseman: Tribute to a King, on Sunday night, you can now watch it on Disney+.
The news of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman’s death last week brought Hollywood to a standstill to mourn the loss of a hero on and off the screen, with celebrities, politicians, and fans taking time to grieve and celebrate a man who brought joy to so many over the course of his career. And Marvel Studios and ABC came together to bring Boseman’s fans and friends a tribute special Sunday night, during which the actor’s loved ones spoke of his impact and accomplishments following a commercial-free airing of Black Panther.
During the special, entitled Chadwick Boseman: Tribute to a King, a combination of Hollywood icons, Marvel stars, and even presidential candidate Joe Biden’s running mate, Kamala Harris, remembered Boseman and honored his legacy onscreen and off. His co-stars spoke of the energy and authenticity he brought to the set, while Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts revealed that he used to visit children battling cancer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
All in all, Chadwick Boseman: Tribute to a King painted a portrait of a man who brought his all to everything he did — and went out of his way to make others happy. The special amassed 4.72 million viewers when it aired, highlighting how many people admired Boseman and wanted to pay their respects to him.
But if you weren’t able to watch the tribute on Sunday evening, it’s now streaming on Disney+. Subscribers can find it under the “Extras” section of Black Panther, a fitting addition to what is arguably Boseman’s career-defining film.
