The Mandalorian season 2: We now know when we’ll be reunited with Baby Yoda
The Mandalorian has officially answered the question weighing on all our minds: when we’ll finally see Baby Yoda again.
Many television series have been forced to push their upcoming seasons all the way to next year, the result of COVID-19-related production delays that brought the industry to a grinding halt this year. Luckily, The Mandalorian isn’t one of those series — in fact, it finished filming its second season just days before lockdowns went into effect back in March.
For that reason, Star Wars fans have been expecting the next rendition of Mando’s (and more importantly, Baby Yoda’s) story to arrive on Disney+ during the latter half of 2020 — and now we officially know when we’ll be reunited with our favorite tiny Force-wielder again.
The show’s official Twitter account revealed earlier today that The Mandalorian season 2 will arrive on October 30. (Those canceled Halloween plans don’t sound so bad now, do they?) That means we’ll embark on the next chapter of this new Star Wars story in just under two months. That certainly seems like cause for celebration!
As for what the show’s sophomore season will entail, it’ll likely show Mando and Baby Yoda on the run from Moff Gideon (who, by the way, apparently is going nuts with the Darksaber this time around). That alone raises the stakes, but the storyline of Mando seeking out Baby Yoda’s people may also lead the pair straight to some familiar characters and plotlines — those related to the Jedi.
Fans may finally get some long-awaited answers regarding where Baby Yoda came from and a background on the species as well. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves here.
Now that the date is official, the next thing to expect is a second-season trailer — and whispers have already suggested we might see one soon. Let’s hope there’s some truth to those rumors.
