Remus Lupin is an incredible character to look at and why we love him but there is a profound sadness in him as a character that is part of why we love him so much.

When it comes to characters from the Harry Potter series we love, Remus Lupin is pretty high up on the list. But when you stop and look at him as a character, he has a profound sadness in him that brings us back to him time and time again.

Remus Lupin had a rough life, much like Sirius Black. That’s probably why we often flock to them together and want more for them both. Their lives were not their own for most the time and even more so for Remus who fought for control over an aspect of himself.

It’s a problem that exists with many characters in the series since we’re only seeing them through Harry’s eyes but it still is something that’s so prominent in Remus as a character that we can still recognize how sad he is as a character outside of that.

Even when he’s seemingly happy, there’s a sadness to him and it’s a little upsetting that he never really gets his time to thrive and find his own kind of happiness. Even if we do end up getting a Marauders series, we still know of what the future holds for all four of them and it is just filled with sadness and betrayal, all at the hands of Peter Pettigrew.

So we love Remus Lupin despite knowing of that sadness and that says a lot about him as a character.

Next. It’s time to head back to Hogwarts in the world of Harry Potter. dark
