Emma Watson has been actively using her star power to try and make this world a better place for years and now, in the midst of civil unrest and change, she’s taken to Twitter and Instagram to share resources to help the Black Lives Matter movement and support the trans community.
Retweeting an article that directly opposes J.K. Rowling’s idea that trans women somehow pose a threat to cis women to constantly, Watson reminds us of why we still look up to certain aspects of the Harry Potter series. The cast.
While Rowling has shown us all what she believes in and whatnot, the cast has rallied behind the trans community. They’ve shared their support of Black Lives Matter and they are using their platform for good and trying to make this all a better place.
Which, in a way, makes sense because they learned from their characters and adapted to be the heroes we all looked up to while growing up. Hermione Granger wanted to help even if she didn’t know how to go about it but still, she wanted to be there and help when she could and now Emma Watson is doing her character proud by using her platform and voice to help others.
