When it came to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, there was quite a journey of haircuts between Harry and all his friends and it still remains one of the most iconic looks.

When Harry Potter rolled up into Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with longer hair, it set a tone for that entire movie. Meaning for whatever reason, all the boys had long hair and looked like they were going through a weird grunge phase.

But it meant that many fans were looking at this new “fashion” choice and seeing a different side to their favorite characters. While it was the first time we met Cedric Diggory, it seemed as if all the boys were kind of coping his look and everyone sort of was going through that phase in life where you don’t know who you are but you know who you want to eventually be so you kind of just copy someone else’s look.

Maybe that’s not that universal but you get what I’m saying. Harry and Ron just wanted to be “cool” and part of that came from having long hair and pretending like they don’t care and living their lives as rebellious teenage boys. And it was also a wonderfully fun time for fans because those looks were…well, certainly looks. And it showed that the series wasn’t afraid of addressing that awkward phase of growing up either.

So here is to Ron and Harry’s very strange haircuts in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. May they never be forgotten and always be held up as the “what are you doing” part of the series.
