Dumbledore and his very dark past that we barely learned about
Albus Dumbledore doesn’t really open up to Harry throughout the series and we don’t learn about his past until the very end so what is really the truth about the Headmaster?
Many aspects of the Harry Potter are covered in mystery but there is something about Albus Dumbledore that kept fans on the edge of their seats. We wanted to know more about him and how he ended up being Headmaster. We wanted to know where he came from.
And we…sort of got answers to that but not really. When Aberforth tells Harry about Albus Dumbledore’s past, it’s only his version of it. And sure, we’re learning a bit more about him with Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald but we still don’t know enough about Dumbledore and how he ended up the man we knew.
Does that mean we should completely unpack him as a character? No, that wouldn’t be fun because part of what made Dumbledore so interesting to us all is that we didn’t really know what made him tick. We knew that Voldemort feared him and that he cared about his students but that’s about it.
In learning more about him, we got to see how he became the man who essentially sacrificed himself (albeit as a mistake) for the future of the wizarding world. But we also learned that Dumbledore was a deeply flawed man who wasn’t perfect by any means and that’s probably a good thing for fans to understand as well.
But, it’d be nice to know a little more about him.
