Following a Bellamy-centric episode last week, The 100 returns to form with “The Stranger,” ramping up the drama on Bardo and Sanctum.

Last week’s episode of The 100 finally revealed what became of Bellamy after weeks of fans speculating that he wasn’t actually dead — and weeks of his closest friends believing just that. Unfortunately, the Bellamy we see at the beginning of “Etherea” isn’t the same Bellamy who emerges from the Anomaly and reunites with his friends at the end of the episode — and it doesn’t look like his betrayal last week was simply the result of time-travel fatigue.

In fact, the promo trailer for “The Stranger” shows Echo and Octavia questioning his decisions, while Clarke finds herself at the Disciples’ mercy now that Bellamy has revealed she doesn’t actually have the flame.

The preview also shows our boy in full-blown Disciple attire, and he doesn’t seem to be faking the position like Gabriel was. In fact, despite the many pleas for him to come to his senses, he insists that “there’s more at stake” than the rest of the group could possibly know. And really, it’s a bit much after just one faith-filled adventure on another planet.

“The Stranger” will also return to the drama unfolding on Sanctum, which recently saw Sheidheda retaking control of the Grounder clans. The episode promo gives a quick glimpse of him taking his throne, and it’s hard to imagine how Madi, Indra, and the rest of the gang on Planet Alpha is going to get out of this predicament. (One also has to wonder whether Bardo will come for the Dark Commander when they discover his relationship to the Flame.)

As the show nears its series finale, The 100 has gotten increasingly stranger — no pun intended — and that isn’t likely to let up this evening.
