When it comes to fun things created by Harry Potter fans, A Very Potter Musical is high up on the list so why does it work so well for fans of the series and beyond?

A Very Potter Musical is a very special part of Harry Potter fandom. Starring Darren Criss as Harry Potter himself, the musical mastered the art of tying together multiple stories from the series as a whole but brought it to life in a new and exciting way.

So why does it work? Part of it comes from actual fans of the series creating it. When fans of something invest in making a parody of it, it comes from a place of love. Which is why A Very Potter Musical works. It’s why we have a beautiful moment like “Those Voices” from A Very Potter Sequel which ties in Harry discovering the Mirror of Erised and having Sirius Black explain it to him.

There is a beauty to this series for a lot of reason and watching fan bring it to life in their own way is part of why we, as fans, flock to these properties. But with the Very Potter series, we get to have songs that remind us of the world that Harry Potter lived in.

So many midnight premieres featured “Goin’ Back to Hogwarts” and so on because we loved them and they loved us, as fans. So we’re lucky to have things like A Very Potter Musical and it’s going to be exciting to see what new fans make in the future.

dark. Next. Colin Farrell was a great addition to the world of Harry Potter. Can he come back?
