The CW’s In the Dark cast proves they have chemistry on and off screen during a season 2 panel
The CW’s In the Dark is the darkly provocative series we need from the network, and the cast brings it to life.
While in-person conventions may have been canceled in 2020, that isn’t stopping them from happening virtually. And with the help of Zoom and other meeting apps, even shows like The CW’s In the Dark are getting a chance to connect with their fans. As part of a series of panels hosted on the New York Comic-Con YouTube channel, fans are getting an in-depth look at some of their favorite shows (and some new ones as well).
On August 13, a virtual panel was released featuring the cast of The CW‘s In the Dark, and the one thing that was clear right from the very beginning is that the chemistry we see on our screens every week is present off the set as well.
Over the course of nearly an hour, the cast and the show’s creator had a chance to talk about their characters, what we saw happen in season 2, and what it is like working together. And if you think the show is dynamic, then you need to watch this panel.

Not only was it nice to laugh with the cast and learn more about each of them, but we also got their thoughts and reactions to things that went down during the second season of the show. From Keston John talking about Darnell’s journey over the first two seasons, to Casey Deidrick having to wear sweatpants for two straight months on set, we got a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into each of these characters’ journeys.
Since the beginning, In the Dark has proven that it can be dark, gritty, and downright provocative. And whether it is solving a murder, committing multiple crimes, or sabotaging relationships, there is something very real about this show.
Considering Murphy is at the heart of this show, it makes sense that every character has a direct link to her character in some way. And while she is clearly a mess, that is also what makes her fascinating. Her being blind doesn’t stop her from being awful, and it doesn’t stop us from sympathizing with some of her choices and actions.
Watching this virtual panel cemented the fact that this is a show with a lot of heart and that heart comes from its cast. It is the cast that brings the magic that keeps us watching. And we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next.
