Production Value

From the fight choreography to the digital graphics used to create interstellar battleships, the production value on Agents of SHIELD is one of the highest qualities on network television. At no point did this show ever look cheap — particularly during its last two seasons, which frequently had scenes set in space or during different timelines.

From the way their costumes matched perfectly for each decade they traveled to during season seven to Quake’s costume, their clothing was always on point. And the set pieces were always so articulate and detailed. Surely sets were recycled at some point, as they frequently are for long-running shows, but you would never be able to tell on this one.

The special effects used to create the power signatures of Daisy and Yo-Yo are MCU movie caliber, making you believe that the actors actually had their onscreen abilities. The glitching of the Framework in season four didn’t come off as hokey, either — it felt like you were in a real-life, virtual simulation.

The action scenes were also top-notch, from May fighting her identical “twin” to Daisy fighting a powered Nathaniel Malick. These are some of the best knock-down, drag-out fights you will ever see on television.
