Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD series finale preview: One last time
After seven seasons, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD comes to a close. Can our team defeat Malick, Sibyl, and the Chronicoms to save their timeline?
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has fought for its survival for seven seasons. Here we finally are, at the end of all things.
Did we ever think we would get seven seasons of this show? It seems crazy to look back at where we started and where we’re at.
Here is the official synopsis for the final two episodes, “The End Is At Hand” and “What We’re Fighting For,” courtesy of ABC:
"“With their backs against the wall and Nathaniel and Sibyl edging ever closer to eliminating S.H.I.E.L.D. from the history books, the agents must rely on their strengths to outsmart and outlast the Chronicoms. This is their most important fight, and it will take the help of friends and teammates, past and present, to survive.”"
With how last week’s episode ended, I really don’t know how our team can win. Or even get close to coming back to their old timeline, with so many details changed.
Without using some form of time travel, it really looks like the end of the line for the SHIELD team. And even then, what are the rules for multiple timelines in the Marvel TV world? Since this was filmed back-to-back with season six and no one knew anything about Avengers: Endgame, they’re playing by their own rules.
Ripples, not waves. But the Chronicoms just made a huge wave last week. Can the team recover after that tidal wave?
Take a deep breath, steel yourself, and repeat after me: We’re gonna teach them how to say goodbye, you and I, one last time.
