Grammy-winning artist Lizzo has signed a deal with Amazon Studios that will see her working on television projects exclusive to the platform.

Lizzo has easily become one of the biggest names in music over the last several years, and now it appears the Grammy-winning artist will be diving headfirst into a new industry: television. According to Variety, Lizzo has signed a first-look television deal with Amazon Studios through which she’ll begin working on projects exclusive to Amazon Prime Video.

“I’m so excited to partner with the amazing team at Amazon,” Lizzo told Variety. “Thank you to Jen Salke and the rest of the team for making this dream come true. I can’t wait to get started and share my vision with the world.”

There’s no word on what kinds of projects Lizzo will be developing under this deal, but if her vision for television series is as grand as her vision for music, we’re in for a treat. Her fans have already seen her onscreen in Hustlers, but having her behind the scenes promises to offer up an all-new perspective — and we’re 100 percent here for it.

Lizzo took home three Grammy awards earlier this year, winning in the categories for Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, and Best Urban Contemporary Album. She was also named Time magazine’s Entertainer of the Year for 2019. It’s clear she’s had a major impact on the industry since her debut album arrived back in 2013, and this deal is likely to further amplify her voice.

We can’t wait to see what Lizzo and Amazon Studios have in store for us in the future. Until then, we’ll be playing “Truth Hurts” on repeat and waiting eagerly for more news.
