The Office and Harry Potter: The hilarious jokes the show has about the series
Referencing the Harry Potter series isn’t exactly a new thing but the way the show The Office used to make jokes is still one of the best things to happen on television.
There are multiple shows that make references back to the Harry Potter series. It is an easy connection, fans will love it and talk about it, and it reminds us of the series we love. But then there are shows like The Office and how it mastered the art of making references to the world of Harry Potter and his friends.
Just little moments that were quick and fun, the show does a wonderful job of bringing an appreciation to the series without making it aggressive. The first that comes to mind is when Prison Mike talks about prison. His idea is to scare his employees into not comparing their work day to jail and so Michael Scott adopts this persona where he says that the worst thing about prison was the dementors.
A few episodes later, there is an episode called “Beach Games” where the teams were Gryffindor and Voldemort. It’s just little moments like that throughout the series that show the love the writers have for the Harry Potter franchise while still being creative about how they bring it up.
It’s absolutely hilarious and fun and thinking about the jokes in not just The Office but shows like Parks and Recreation and beyond is exciting and fun. With The Office, it’s just also nice to remember that the worst thing, for Prison Mike, was the dementors.
